“Basant Panchami: The Day Learning Begins”
हे शारदे माँ, हे शारदे माँ
अज्ञानता से हमें तार दे माँ
Most of us have grown up listening to or singing these sacred lines during school prayers—especially on Thursdays or on the auspicious day of Basant Panchami. At that time, we may not have fully understood their depth, but as life moves forward, their meaning unfolds naturally.
As we grow, our present life is shaped by our energy level and the frequency at which we vibrate. This energy manifests through knowledge, rituals, discipline, and constant learning. Every human being faces problems related to health, money, relationships, respect, or career. But what truly makes the difference is how a person sees a problem and how they handle it.
This ability does not come overnight. It develops over time through learning, experience, and self-awareness. When you believe, “I will solve this problem,” that faith itself reflects your inner strength. And that strength is built slowly—by understanding situations, absorbing lessons, and responding consciously. Everyone has the ability to react, but not everyone reacts in the same way. The quality of that reaction shows how much learning a person has earned throughout life.
In Jyotish (astrology) too, this truth is beautifully reflected. When a person has a strong Guru in the 9th house, they are prepared for karma, represented by the 10th house—the house of position, responsibility, power, and action. To perform karma effectively, one needs wisdom, and that wisdom is gained in the 9th house through learning, guidance, and dharma. Nature assigns us duties, but knowledge helps us perform them rightly.
If we observe successful and influential people, one common habit stands out—they read. Reading introduces new ideas, new perspectives, and even a quiet sense of happiness. Through a single book, we can absorb 75–80 years of someone else’s life experience. However, I do not believe that knowledge comes only from books. Some people learn through trauma, some through broken relationships, and some through failure in business.
As Bhagwan Osho said, when a person stops learning, their downfall begins. He explained that if a person does not engage in creation, their energy starts flowing into destructive habits—because energy must express itself. If it is not used consciously, it will find an unconscious outlet.
Today, on this sacred Panchami Tithi, the day dedicated to learning and knowledge, I am starting this new blog to share my thoughts with you—all with the blessings of my Guru and Maa Saraswati on the occasion of Basant Panchami. This is my very first blog, so if there are any mistakes, I humbly ask for your forgiveness.
May Devi Saraswati bless us all with wisdom, clarity, and light in our lives.
On this auspicious day of Basant Panchami, it is considered favorable to begin:
- New learning
- A child’s admission to school
- Buying books or enrolling in courses
May this day mark the beginning of continuous growth and lifelong learning for all of us.
